The Best True Crime Series to Watch on Netflix Right Now

There comes a time when everyone needs a rush of that good old thrill, and that’s when you need to watch a good show based on true crime. You would be amazed to see the kind of twisted people that have lived among us and the heinous crimes that they have committed.

The best way to watch shows on true crime is to binge them since they usually have fewer episodes. Before you begin binging, you must ensure that all your essentials are in order. These include a buddy to watch shows with, a bucket of popcorn or any other snack that you like, and a formidable internet connection such as Xfinity Internet so that you can stream lag-free(Honestly, with any of the  Xfinity Packages, you are sorted for streaming!)

However, I wouldn’t recommend watching these shows if you are fainthearted. If you can handle true crime shows, then here are some that you should definitely check out!

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel

One of the most famous cases in the United States will always be the vanishing of Elisa Lam at the Cecil Hotel. Nearly all of us have seen that viral clip from the elevator, which shows Elisa when she was last alive and was acting rather erratic inside the elevator.

However, her body was later found in the water tank up on the roof and no one could figure out how she got there in the first place. The documentary takes its sweet time to finally disclose that Elisa was struggling with mental health issues and had stopped taking her medication. She had also been moved to a private room due to constant complaints by other guests.

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich

There’s something about the name Jeffrey, isn’t there? Be it, Jeffrey Dahmer or Epstein, both have committed crimes that have shocked the entire world. However, Filthy Rich is a documentary based on the book of the same name by James Patterson.

Both the book and the show are about the cases filed against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and how he made great use of his wealth, connections, and power to commit major crimes. The shocking part of the documentary is the series of interviews conducted by survivors such as Maria Farmer and Virginia Giuffre as they explain all the crimes Epstein carried out.

If you really want to catch up with more about the cases, then you should definitely check out this docuseries!

Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

Speaking of Jeffrey Dahmer, we couldn’t possibly miss out on the super famous docuseries, titled Dahmer on Netflix, could we? Evan Peters swept us off our feet with his performance while playing the character of Dahmer, and he really spooked us to our cores.

The show explains all the dreadful crimes Jeffrey Dahmer committed in the Midwest during the years 1978 and 1991. The most exhilarating part of the docuseries is when Jeffrey is almost caught multiple times, but he still manages to get away with it.

Worst Roommate Ever

This show gives you all the more reason to not trust a roommate unless you are 100% sure about them. The best thing about this series is that every episode has a new story to share with you. For instance, one is about a homicidal granny who would bury her victims in her garden.

Another episode is about a charming young man who is also a con artist. He would strangle victims and leave them in an abandoned warehouse. I’m pretty sure by the time you reach the end of the series, you will make up your mind to live alone rather than with someone else!

Lover, Stalker, Killer

What’s the worst that could happen after a relationship goes bad, right? Well, a lot. If you want to find out what, then you should definitely watch Lover, Stalker, Killer, which will definitely convince you to delete all your existing dating profiles.

This documentary is about a vengeful man who wreaks havoc on the life of his former girlfriend after the relationship ends. The case was revealed back in the 2010s but the documentary came out earlier this year. The documentary has so many details but is encapsulated well in the documentary.

The Most Hated Man on the Internet

Well, the title explains it all. This is the story of Hunter Moore, an utterly disgusting individual who was the mind behind the website IsAnyoneUp.com. The whole idea behind the website was to release “sensitive material of ex-partners” after the relationship ends.

Not only does the documentary feature the story of Moore himself but also all the victims that he gathered. However, you can take the documentary as a lesson to not send anyone anything that might be considered sensitive.

More Crime Thrillers to Watch

You should watch Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which is about the infamous Ted Bundy who was apparently good-looking and would lure women only to murder them. The movie stars Zac Efron as Ted Bundy and Lily Collins as Liz, a woman who falls for Ted Bundy.
